How to Kill Three Birds With One Stone



We're often asked to fulfil a broad scope with a limited budget and this project for the global Trillium Flow Technologies brand did just that and more! Read on if you want to learn how GrowThink can deliver every pound of value for our clients whilst delivering some innovative marketing.



The Challenge


Trillium Flow Technologies had recently re-branded and needed some launch materials to a tight deadline. Their Scotland facility had several challenges:

  1. They wanted a brochure, presentation material and electronic materials for an exhibition deadline

  2. They didn't want a static, boring brochure - it had to be modern and reflect their new brand

  3. They didn't have fully developed brand guidelines so the design was all new

  4. They didn't have a big budget

  5. Their photography was limited

  6. They needed it all in a few weeks!

Nothing we couldn't handle we said confidently, whilst we knew we'd have to work hard and fast on this one.



The First Steps - Moving Quickly and Creatively


Never one to turn down the challenge we turned around three design concepts around in a couple of days. With the client's input we settled on a clean and modern design mirroring the flow of liquid, utilising organic and modern shapes and effectively using the brand's bold colours.


We finalised the favoured design and within a week we'd arranged a photo-shoot, gathered existing images, researched and wrote copy, created some powerful info-graphics and had a detailed first draft to the client. This was well received and within a few more days we had the basic content locked down.



The Three Birds With One Stone Part


This is where we got clever. After we had the basic content decided on we took it and created our first piece of collateral a static brochure for print. This could have readily been turned into a static pdf for download on the Trillium website but we animated the content and added hyperlinks to make it into an interactive - see example below.


It didn't stop there. We took that same content and worked it up into a sales presentation and a file that could be run at exhibitions - adding more interactive content and additional information.


Finally we provided these materials in their raw form so Tillium's internal team could re-use the content for their new website and also to help in the design of their exhibition stand.


So at least three birds with one stone, if not five!



Outcome


From an initial basic brief the client had the following quickly and efficiently delivered:

  • A new service overview brochure written with compelling copy and showcasing powerful new images and infographics

  • A new brochure design that could be used on other collateral to further leverage their new brand

  • The brochure in interactive e-form as well as ready to print

  • As a bonus - the raw materials from this exercise to use in web and exhibition materials

The Scotland team were great to work with and this project has helped launch the Trillium Flow Technology brand afresh. The work done will serve their marketing efforts well into the future.
